TALKING POINTS
  • Sophomore Romana Kriskova scored four of the match's final seven points, including three of her match-high 27 kills, to spur the Rams to their fifth win this season. She hit .541.
  • Kriskova's 27 kills were the most by a Ram since 2007. She opened with four kills in the first set, then added seven each in the second and third, four in the fourth and five more – on seven swings - in the tiebreaker.
  • The Rams held an 11-10 lead in the fifth when Kriskova finally shut the door on the Buccaneers. With three kills in a six-play span, Kriskova brought the Rams to match point. She then finished the job with a service ace.
  • In addition, sophomore Kalah Jones spiked 18 kills for the Rams, including six on nine attempts in the first set as VCU grabbed a 25-19 win.
  • Junior setter Cecilia Aragao provided 48 assists for a VCU offense that hit .269, while freshman Nora Reed added six blocks.

  • Kriskova has now topped 20 kills in three of the Rams' six matches this season. She also has 16 service aces this year. Kriskova led the Rams with 28 aces in 2012.
  • Kriskova's 27 kills are the most by a Ram since Belinda Behncke-Biney recorded 29 against William & Mary on Nov. 2, 2007.
  • With 48 assists, Aragao moved into sole possession of fifth place on VCU's career list with 2,507.
