WILLIAMS NAMED CAA FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
RICHMOND, Va.—Breaking records is no easy feat. When you break a record and post a top conference mark for the year, people have to take notice.
The Colonial Athletic Association took notice as they named Jaleesa Williams the CAA Field Athlete of the Week following her throwing performance at the 2012 Patriot Open Invite.
Williams broke a school record this past weekend in women's shot put when she threw 14.13 meters, surpassing former Ram Natalie Duncan's 2009 school record of 13.91 meters. Her throw is also the longest throw this year in the CAA.
Williams and the Rams will be back in action again next weekend. Some will travel to the 2012 Vanderbilt Invite while others will head to the CNU Captains' Classic.
