The short story: VCU women's tennis hit the road for the first time this dual season and topped Pittsburgh 4-2 on Saturday afternoon.

OPENING SERVE

  • The Rams grabbed the doubles point behind junior Anna Rasmussen and freshman Melissa Ifidzhen's team-leading seventh doubles victory of the season on court 1.  Freshmen Sofia Sualehe and Kanako Yano teamed up to win at No. 3 doubles, beating Natsumi Okamoto and Jovana Knezevic 6-1.
  • Rasmussen and freshman Paola Exposito Diaz Delgado pushed the VCU lead to 3-1 with straight-set wins at No. 1 and No. 2 singles, respectively.
  • Sophomore Noumea Witmus clinched the match for the Rams with a three-set victory over Jovana Knezevic at No. 6 singles, winning 7-5, 3-6, 6-3
