  • The Short Story: VCU's women's tennis squad swept through singles action to take down in state rival William & Mary, 6-1, on Sunday afternoon. The Rams won five of the six singles matches via straight sets.

How It Happened

  • After dropping the doubles point, sophomore Olga Barscheuskaya got the Rams even at 1-1 with a dominating 6-0, 60 win at #5 singles.
  • Freshman Ludivine Burguiere followed suit with a 6-2, 6-0 win at #6 singles, followed by Yukako Noi at #2 singles with a 6-2, 6-2 win to make it 3-1 in favor of the Black & Gold.
  • Senior Daria Yakauleva locked up the win for the Rams with a 6-2, 6-2 victory at #3 singles.
  • Salome Kvitashvili and Cindy Chala wrapped up the singles action with wins at #4 and #1 respectively.
