  • The Short Story: The VCU women's tennis team continued its winning ways by dominating Atlantic 10 foe George Washington, 7-0. It was the Rams' sixth win in the past eight matches. All six singles matches were decided in straight sets.

How It Happened

  • VCU grabbed momentum early when Salome Kvitashvili and Olga Terteac won 8-2 at #3 doubles, followed by Olga Barscheuskaya and Daria Yakauleva wrapping up the doubles point with an 8-1 win at #1 doubles to give the Rams a 1-0 advantage.
  • Kvitashvili extended that lead with a quick 6-0, 6-0 win over Allison Hansen at #4 singles.
  • Freshman Ludivine Burguiere made it 3-0 in favor of the Rams with a 6-1, 6-0 victory at #5 singles.
  • Cindy Chala locked up the win for the Black & Gold with a 6-1, 6-1 win at the top singles spot.
  • Terteac, Barscheuskaya and Yakauleva wrapped up the sweep with straight set victories.
