  • The Short Story: Junior Salome Kvitashvili won in straight sets for the second time on the weekend to lead the VCU women's tennis team to its fourth straight win, a 4-0 decision over Boston University. Senior Cindy Chala and sophomore Olga Barscheuskaya also picked up singles victories on the day.
How It Happened
  • The Rams started the day by claiming the doubles point. Barscheuskaya teamed with senior Daria Yakauleva to pick up an 8-4 win at #1 doubles. After BU rallied for a win at #2 doubles, Kvitashvili teamed with senior Olga Terteac to secure the doubles point at #3, 8-5.
  • After winning the first set 6-2, Chala won at #1 singles via injury default to push VCU's lead to 2-0.
  • Kvitashvili made it 3-0 with a 6-3, 6-0 win at #4 singles.
  • Barscheuskaya wrapped things up with a 6-2, 6-3 win over BU's Sami Lieb at #5 singles.
