WINS OVER UNCW AND GEORGETOWN CAP OFF PERFECT 4-0 WEEKEND FOR RAMS

RICHMOND, Va. – Prior to the annual 4x1 Invitational, Head Coach Paul Kostin sat down with VCUathletics.com to talk about the upcoming tennis season for previews that will run this week. During that talk, Kostin talked about the depth and balance that the women's team has with eight different girls that can all help the Rams win.

That depth and balance was on display right from the start as the Black & Gold capped off a perfect 4-0 weekend with wins over UNCW and Georgetown at the 4x1 Invitational.

All eight Rams on the roster posted singles victories with six of them posting two wins apiece. Senior Ana Bara, junior Josefin Hjertquist, sophomores Daria Yakavleva and Olga Terteac and freshman Alena Gerasimova all went 2-0 in singles action over the weekend for VCU.

The Rams return to action this upcoming weekend in Chapel Hill, N.C. at the ITA Indoor Regionals. VCU will take on Brown in the opening round.
