RICHMOND, Va. – The Thalhimer Tennis Center has been updated with new courts and this year got a brand new scoreboard. It's become quite a comfy home for the Virginia Commonwealth University women's tennis team.

That statement continues to be proven true as the Rams rolled to their seventh straight win with a 6-1 beat down of the Cyclones of Iowa State on Sunday afternoon. The Black & Gold are now 10-2 overall and a perfect 7-0 at home.

All three double teams rolled to victories to put VCU up 1-0 right away.

Senior Laura Burns (Hertford, England) continued her outstanding season with a straight set 6-0, 6-1 win over Marie-Christine Chartier, before Erin Karonis notched the Cyclones lone point of the day after Ana Bara (Oradea, Romania) retired due to injury.

Sophomore Alex Bara (Oradea, Romania) and junior Kateryna Yergina (Kiev, Ukraine) would then secure VCU's seventh straight win with straight set wins at #4 and #3, respectively.

The Rams will now have a full week off before hosting the 25th-ranked Cavaliers of the University of Virginia in an in-state showdown. First serve is set for 12 p.m. on Saturday, March 6th at Thalhimer Tennis Center.
