GETTING TO KNOW: FRESHMAN FORWARD JESSIE KRASKO
RICHMOND, Va. -The VCU women's soccer team is looking to make a late run up the Colonial Athletic Association standings and finding the back of the net will be pivotal for that to happen.
Freshman forward Jessie Krasko will be looking to be a spark plug off the bench for the Rams, but before she could do that VCU Athletics' student assistant Scott Wyant had a chance to catch up with the Centreville, Md. native to get to know her a little more.
SW: What made you choice to come to VCU?
JK: I loved the coaches and the atmosphere they had set up for their players. They want us to become the player we have always wanted to be and that was something that I loved about them.
SW: If you got a free ticket to any event what would you choose?
JK: A World Cup Final soccer game. They are so exciting!
SW: What was/is the biggest transition being a college freshmen?
JK: Time management defiantly. It's hard to balance school and studying with sports, but also trying to fit in some down time to relax so you are not stressed all the time.
SW: Who has had the biggest influence on your soccer career?
JK: My sister Lauren. I always wanted to be just like her. She was always winning tournaments with her team and traveling to different places. She was the reason I chose soccer over lacrosse.
SW: What is your greatest accomplishment on the pitch?
JK: So far I would have to say beating Richmond.
SW: What is your favorite part of being a member of the women's soccer team?
JK: If I would have to say one thing, it would that we're all a family. I know if I needed help with anything they would be there to have my back. I can always count on them any time of the day.
SW: What do you do to relax on an off day?
JK: Watch movies and lay in my bed.
SW: Are Vuvuzuelas good for the sport?
JK: Yes, they provide an energetic and exciting atmosphere.
Where is your favorite place to play away from VCU? Probably at the Soccerplex in Germantown, MD.
Favorite team: New York Yankees
Favorite class: Math or Science. I love both of them.
Dream job: Pediatric Oncologist at St. Judes Childrens Hospital
When did you score your first goal? I can't remember back that far, but probably in Rec league when I was 4 or 5.
Who would win 1 v. 1 co-head coach Tim Sahaydak or co-head coach Tiffany Roberts Sahaydak? Tie. Tim lives for megging people and is very technical, but Tiff never loses.
What is the most played song on your iPod right now? Australia by Jonas Brothers.
