RICHMOND, Va. – Maybe Boise, Idaho is the only place in the country that enjoys Mondays.

Exactly one week after her hometown Boise State football team scored a win over Virginia Tech on national TV, freshman Bex Kunz (Boise, Idaho) earned her own notoriety being named Colonial Athletic Association Rookie of the Week.

"Bex has done a great job adjusting to the college game and really been a force for us so far this year," Co-Head Coach Tiffany Roberts Sahaydak said. "She's so versatile and athletic that it really allows us to have a lot more options than we've had in the past."

After playing on the road for two straight weekends, Kunz and the Rams returned home last Friday and scored a dominating 3-0 win over in-state rival Liberty, the 2009 Big South Champions and an NCAA Tournament participant last season.

Kunz had a hand in all three goals for the Black & Gold, starting things off with a long goal from the right sideline into the upper left corner after just 57 seconds had ticked off the game clock.

Just a short time later, Kunz fed a beautiful pass through the box for sophomore Bre White (Manassas, Va.) who deposited her fourth goal of the year into the back of the net for a 2-0 lead.

Four minutes later, it was Kunz again, this time it was from the left sideline into the upper right corner and gave VCU a commanding 3-0 lead, an advantage that was never in jeopardy.

Kunz and her teammates are back in action for their final two non-conference games of the season with a Thursday night showdown at the University of Richmond and a Sunday afternoon home contest against Elon.
