HALIFAX, Nova Scotia  – In her two seasons with the Virginia Commonwealth University women's soccer program, Molly Allen (Halifax, Nova Scotia) has been a constant source of leadership and dedication.

Those traits don't stop when she leaves the Black & Gold has demonstrated them on the international stage for Canada's U-20 team. Because of that, Allen was recently honored with the Dr. Irene Szuler Award

The award was established to recognize and encourage a female soccer player in Nova Scotia demonstrating outstanding qualities of personal leadership, showing commitment to the game of soccer, and providing encouragement to grass-roots players to strive for excellence.

Allen was presented with the award at the Soccer Nova Scotia Annual General Meeting at the end of May.

She will be back with the Rams this fall to help anchor a tough back line and look to get VCU back to the top of the Colonial Athletic Association.
