NINE HOME GAMES HIGHLIGHT RAMS 2010 SCHEDULE
RICHMOND,
Va. – Fans of the Virginia Commonwealth University women's
soccer program will get plenty of chances to see all the boatload
of new players joining the Rams next season.
Nine home games highlight the Black & Gold's 2010 schedule,
which includes a trip to the JMU Invitational and trip to the
Sunshine State.
"We're excited about this upcoming fall," Co-Head Coach
Tiffany Roberts Sahaydak said. "We have a very
talented incoming class and we feel that we have a solid
non-conference schedule that will prepare us for the trek through
conference play."
The newcomers will get their first taste of game action at VCU's
Sports Backers Stadium on August 13th when the Rams host the
Pirates of East Carolina at 7 p.m. in an exhibition contest.
On August 20th, Longwood makes the short trip east for the Black
& Gold's season opener. Game time at Sports Backers is set for
7 p.m.
VCU then hits the road for four straight with games against
Villanova and St. John's at the JMU Invitational, followed by two
tilts in the Sunshine State against Stetson and Central
Florida.
Home games against Liberty and Elon and a trip over to Richmond
set the stage for the conference opener at home against defending
CAA regular season champion, Northeastern, at 7 p.m. on Friday,
September 24th.
Hofstra and Towson both make a visit to Sports Backers, while the
Rams travel to George Mason, UNC Wilmington and Georgia State.
The Black & Gold seniors will have their final weekend at home
when VCU hosts Delaware and Drexel on October 15th and 17th.
If they are going to make a run towards the conference title, the
last three games will be a huge reason why with three straight road
contests at Old Dominion (October 22nd), at William & Mary
(October 24th) and at James Madison (October 29th).
