RICHMOND, Va. – VCU Women's Basketball and the Massey Cancer Center are joining forces to battle breast cancer.
On Saturday, Feb. 8, the Rams will host crosstown rival Richmond at 2 p.m. in the annual Massey Cancer Center PINK OUT, which seeks to raise breast cancer awareness. Fans are encouraged to wear pink, and pink t-shirts will be given to the first 500 fans.
A special halftime presentation will be held to honor cancer survivors, those currently impacted and loved ones lost, and will feature former and current Massey patients.
On the floor, fans can look forward to a pivotal Atlantic 10 Conference contest between VCU Coach Marlene Stollings' record-setting 17-6 Rams and the longtime rival Spiders (10-12). The Rams are currently in the thick of the A-10 race as the league schedule turns to its home stretch. The Rams are bolstered by A-10 scoring leader Robyn Parks, who has topped 30 points three times this season.
Tickets for Saturday's game are available at the VCU Ticket Office. Fans can also purchase tickets through VCUAthletics.com, or by phone at (804) 828-RAMS.
