RICHMOND, Va. – The VCU Men's Tennis team continues to win both on and off the court.
The Rams were named an ITA All-Academic Team Tuesday, a designation reserved for programs which post a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 (on a 4.00 scale) or better. VCU's Men's Tennis program has received the honor each of the past three years.
Additionally, three individuals, Arvid Noren (Pitea, Sweden), Ignacio Rivero Crespo (Mallorca, Spain) and Inigo Torre Martin (Bilbao, Spain) were named ITA Scholar Athletes. Noren was also named a Scholar Athlete in 2017.
In order to receive an ITA Scholar-Athlete award, a player must be a letter winner, achieve a GPA of 3.5 or higher and have been enrolled at their school for a minimum of two semesters.
On the court, VCU captured its second straight A-10 Championship and received a berth to the NCAA Tournament.
