WENNAKOSKI, HEUGAS FORM DYNAMIC DUO AT DUKE'S FAB 4 TOURNAMENT
EVENT: Duke Fab 4 (Durham, N.C.)
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Senior Max Wennakowski finished third in his flight over the weekend at the Duke Fab 4 Invitational. He beat Thomas Meyer of North Carolina and Michael Lippens of Louisville to move into the semifinals. He then dropped a match to Duke's Henrique Cunha, before defeating, the Blue Devils' Josh Levinein three sets to finish in third place.
- Wennakowski and sophomore Alexis Heugas finished third in the doubles event. The duo beat Brett Parker and William Clark of North Carolina 8-3, before dropping a tough match to Nick Sayer and Thomas Dehaen of Radford, 9-8. Wennakowski and Huegas regrouped and went on to beat Hunter Koontz and Marko Lovrinovic of Virginia Tech 8-6 to finish third.
- Huegas opened singles play with a win over Kyle Koch of South Carolina, 6-4,6-4.
