GETTING TO KNOW: SOPHOMORE MAX WENNAKOSKI
RICHMOND, Va. - After capturing yet another CAA title this past
spring, the VCU men's tennis team is back on the courts this fall
preparing to make a run at their 13th CAA Championship in May.
Between practices at Thalhimer Tennis Center, VCU Athletics'
student assistant Nan Turner had a chance to catch up with
sophomore Max
Wennakoski find out a little bit more about the Finland
native.
NT: What's your favorite thing about VCU?
MW: Supportive atmosphere
NT: If you had a completely tennis free weekend, what
would it look like?
MW: Relaxing, usually in front of the computer.
NT: If you could play on any other VCU sports
team, which one would you choose? Why?
MW: Soccer. I enjoy playing it.
NT: Best memory playing at VCU thus far?
MW: Winning conference last year.
NT: Who has been the most influential person in your
life?
MW: My father
NT: Favorite thing about away matches?
MW: Winning a tight match in front of a loud crowd who
wants you to lose.
NT: If you could have any superpower what would it be
and why?
MW: Former VCU assistant coach Romain Ambert´s
forehand, now that´s what I call a superpower.
NT: What's something people would be surprised to know
about you?
MW: I would love to continue my tennis career after
college in some form.
NT: If you had to describe yourself in one word what
would it be and why?
MW: Compact, I´ve heard that one on the tennis
court.
