RICHMOND, Va. – After back-to-back trips to the NCAA Tournament and another year with a top-25 ranking, the VCU men's soccer team continues to pile up the accolades.

Sophomore defender Dennis Castillo and junior forward Kharlton Belmar were named to the VaSID All-State First Team, while senior midfielder Romena Bowie was honored with Second Team recognition.

The praise adds to a list of honors received by the three players.  All three players were placed on the All-Atlantic 10 first team, and each was recognized as an All-Mid Atlantic Region player as well, with Castillo being named to the first team, Belmar to the second team, and Bowie to the third team.

Castillo scored six goals and registered 13 points on the season from the outside defensive position, helping him to receive a pair of weekly honors throughout the season.

Belmar finished with a team-leading eight goals and 18 points, and ranked among the top 10 in the league in goals, points, shots and game-winning scores.

Bowie appeared in 19 games as a senior, starting 12, and tallied an assist from the central midfield position.  In December, he was selected to participate in the MLS Combine, which begins Friday in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
