RICHMOND, Va. – The members of Ram Nation know him as one of the best three-point shooters in the history of VCU men's basketball.
On Friday, Brandon Rozzell, known as "the Mayor of Richmond", will try his hand at another sport when he tosses out the first pitch at the Richmond Flying Squirrels' playoff game.
Rozzell was a huge spark off the bench for the Black & Gold during the magical Final Four run in March and the Squirrels are hoping he provides the same spark as they host the final three games of the Eastern League Championship Series.
The Richmond, Va. native concluded his outstanding four-year career with 103 wins, tied for the most over any four-year span in VCU history. Individually, he finished with 193 three-pointers, (third most in school history), 137 steals (8th most in school history) and 973 points.
He is expecting to sign with a professional team in Europe in the next few weeks, joining the three other seniors on last year's Final Four teams overseas.
Game time at The Diamond is set for 7:05 p.m.
