RICHMOND, Va. – The hottest ticket in the city of Richmond and one of the hottest tickets in the Commonwealth of Virginia now has a schedule as the full 2011-12 VCU men's basketball schedule was released on Thursday afternoon.
The Colonial Athletic Association announced its conference schedule to complete the Black & Gold's slate for the upcoming season.
A home date against UNC Wilmington on December 17th opens up conference play for VCU, but the full conference action doesn't get underway until the Rams' visit Hofstra on Jan. 2.
The Black & Gold will then play five of their next seven conference contests inside the comforts of the Verizon Wireless Arena, welcoming Georgia State (Jan. 4), James Madison (Jan. 11), William & Mary (Jan. 18), Old Dominion (Jan. 21) and Hofstra (Jan. 23) to Richmond.
Trips to Drexel (Jan. 7) and Delaware (Jan. 14) are mixed into the middle of those home games.
VCU will then hit the road for three straight with a Jan. 25 match-up at Towson, followed by visits to Georgia State (Jan. 28) and William & Mary (Feb. 1).
Home dates against Northeastern (Feb. 4) and Towson (Feb. 8) precede a tough stretch run for the Rams.
The stretch run starts with back-to-back road games at Old Dominion (Feb. 11) and George Mason (Feb. 14). After a home ESPNU BracketBuster contest, VCU returns to the road against UNC Wilmington (Feb. 22) before hosting George Mason on Feb. 25 for Senior Night.
Dates and times are tentative until a full TV schedule is announced at CAA Media Day on October 18th.
