SHAKA SMART COACHES CLINIC SET FOR SATURDAY, OCT. 22ND
RICHMOND, Va. – After guiding the VCU men's basketball team to its first-ever Final Four this past March, Head Coach Shaka Smart wants to spend some time sharing his knowledge of the game with some of his peers.
Smart and the rest of the VCU coaching staff will hold the second annual VCU Coaches Clinic Saturday, Oct. 22 from 9:30 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Kevin Eastman, assistant coach of the Boston Celtics, was an integral part of the coaching staff that led the team to a World Championship in 2008. Eastman enters his seventh season with the team. Previously, he served as Nike Basketball's National Director of Skill Development, working with players like LeBron James, Steve Nash and Kobe Bryant.

Dave Macedo, head coach at Virginia Wesleyan College, has guided his teams to a 215-76 record. In 2007, Macedo helped VWC become the national runner-up and finished the season with a 28-5 record. He enters his eleventh season with the school.
Each clinic participant will receive a Nike VCU polo in addition to dinner immediately following the last speaker. The cost of the clinic is $50.00, and the fee should be paid for each individual person attending.
