Richmond, Va. - Nearly three seasons after donning the black and gold of Virginia Commonwealth University, Michael Anderson tak es another shot at American basketball.
Anderson has earned a training camp invite from the Dakota Wizards for the NBA Developmental League. The Wizards are the NBDL affiliate for both the Washington Wizards and the Memphis Grizzles.
He is one of seven invitees the Wizards invited to their camp. The 6-7 forward has played in Austria and Slovakia among other stops in his international professional career. Anderson spent the spring with BK Inter Bratislava in Slovakia, where he averaged 18.4 points and 6.7 rebounds per game. Prior to his European arrival, Anderson's professional career made a stop in Canada.
Anderson was a fixture in the Rams' starting front court during the 2006-07 and 2007-08 seasons. During that time he started 64 games while averaging 6.8 points and 4.8 rebounds per game. He left Richmond after appearing in 121 games in his four seasons with the Rams.
Anderson will compete in the pre-season camp, which wraps up later this month. The Wizards will begin their season on November 15th when they host the Iowa Energy.
