ARLINGTON, Va. - With less than a month left before the start of
college basketball, the coaches that make up the Colonial Athletic
Association ascended upon Champps Restaurant in Pentagon Row in
Arlington, Va.
VCU Head Coach Shaka Smart spent the day zipping from interview to interview and learned that his Rams were picked third in the conference's preseason poll, selected by the league's coaches, media and Sports Information Directors. One of the key leaders of Smart's squad, senior point guard Joey Rodriguez was honored with Preseason All-CAA First Team accolades.
