· Originally signed with Auburn, but was released after Jeff Lebo resigned. Signed with VCU in late June to complete the Class of 2010 for Coach Smart and his staff.
· Four-year starter at Hillview High School
· Earned All-State accolades at the 4A classification after averaging a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds per game for the  Hawks
· Helped his team earn the Regional Championship during his junior year, while earning berths into the State Tournament during his sophomore, junior and senior seasons
· Played his AAU ball with the Atlanta Express
· Received interest from Cincinnati, Winthrop and Tulane
