BURGESS’ TIME AT VCU:
· First Ram to start the first 70 games of his career in over
10 seasons
· Showed ability to play
the four position for the Black & Gold during his sophomore
season with his first three career double-doubles, which included
his first career double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds in a
win at Hampton on Nov. 23
· Set career-highs in nearly every statisical category as a
sophomore, including a three-point increase in points-per-game,
two-rebound increase in rebounds-per-game and more than double the
amount of blocks
· “Big Shot
Brad” earned his nickname during his freshman season. Late in
victories over James Madison (2/11) and Richmond (12/13), he
knocked down clutch three-pointers to clinch victories for the
Ram
· With nine points and six rebounds in 21 minutes against
Citadel on Nov. 16, Burgess became the first Ram to start in his
collegiate debut since some guy named Eric Maynor in 2005. Rumor
has it that he turned out to be pretty good.
PRIOR TO VCU:

School allowed Burgess to become pretty familiar with the Siegel
Center.
· Along with current UNC
star Ed Davis, Burgess helped lead the Cadets to back-to-back VISAA
Division I State Championships during his junior and senior
seasons.
· Burgess earned a McDonald’s
All-American nomination during his senior season with the
Cadets.
· During his senior season
at Benedictine, Burgess earned All-Conference and VISAA Division
First-Team All-State honors.

Burgess was a star for Boo Williams AAU, which drew recruiting
interest from several CAA schools.
