Mr. Sanders’ Neighborhood – The 2009 CAA Championship was a statement game for Larry as he burst onto the national scene with a dominant 18-point, 20-rebound, seven block performance. Those 20 boards broke the previous tournament record held by “The Admiral”, David Robinson, who grabbed 19 for Navy in 1986.

Tourney Time is Sanders Time – That breakout game was the culmination of two years of outstanding CAA Tournament performances for Sanders, who has averaged 12 points and 12.4 rebounds in five games at the Richmond Coliseum.

A Happy Camper – Sanders has long been recognized for his big-time potential by NBA scouts. He parlayed a stellar sophomore season with the Rams into two exclusive hoops camp invites this offseason: The LeBron James and Amare Stoudemire Skills Academies.

The High School Days

Late Bloomer, Quick Study – Sanders didn’t play organized basketball until his sophomore year in high school, but his talents emerged quickly. He helped lead Port St. Lucie to back-to-back district championships and one regional title.

Shining Bright in the Sunshine State – After he averaged 19.9 points, 12.1 rebounds and 5.9 blocks per game during his senior season with the Jaguars, Sanders earned Second Team All-State accolades.

I Remember the Night When… – Sanders provide Port St. Lucie fans with one of those nights when he poured in 25 points and grabbed 24 rebounds in a single game.
