THE BASICS
  • VCU completed its championship 2014 season Saturday when it placed 11th at the NCAA San Antonio Regional at Briggs Ranch Golf Course.
  • The top five finishers, Georgia, Georgia State, Vanderbilt, SMU and UCLA, advanced to the NCAA Championship.
  • The Rams were plus-15 Saturday and finished at 28-over (300-289-303=892) for the 54-hole tournament.
  • Adam Ball was VCU's top competitor over the weekend. The sophomore carded a 4-over 76 Saturday to earn a share of 31st place. Ball was 5-over (75-70-76=221) for the weekend.
  • Senior Rocky Khara completed his illustrious VCU career with a 75 in the final round. Khara tied for 43rd and was 8-over (76-73-75=224).
  • Also for the Rams, Steffen Harm (+10) tied for 56th, Enej Sarkanj (+11) tied for 59th and Matt Ball Jr. (+12) tied for 64th.
NOTABLES
  • VCU was making its ninth NCAA Regional appearance.
  • The Rams complete a season which saw them win three tournaments, including the school's first conference title since 2009.
WHAT'S NEXT
VCU's 2013-14 campaign is complete. The Rams will return to action this fall, and are expected to return three starters, including All-Atlantic 10 selection Adam Ball.
