ADAM BALL NAMED A-10 GOLFER OF THE WEEK FOR THIRD TIME

RICHMOND, Va. – Adam Ball is starting to make a habit of this sort of thing.

The VCU sophomore was named Atlantic 10 Conference Golfer of the Week for the third time this spring on Thursday following another top-5 finish.

Ball tied for fourth at the River Landing Intercollegiate April 11-12 at the River Landing Golf Club in Wallace, N.C. He was 1-under (70-71-74=215) for the 54-hole tournament as the Rams placed second to East Carolina. It's Ball's fourth top-5 finish this season.

A former U.S. Amateur quarterfinalist, Ball leads the Rams in stroke average (72.82) for the second straight season. He's shot par or better in 12 of his 28 competitive rounds for VCU in 2013-14.

Ball and VCU are currently prepping for the Atlantic 10 Championship April 25-27 in Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla. The Rams were voted the unanimous favorite to capture the league crown in a vote of A-10 head coaches.
