RAMS FINISH 10TH AT RIVER LANDING INTERCOLLEGIATE IN FINAL TUNE UP FOR CAA CHAMPIONSHIPS

WALLACE, N.C. –While most of the golfing world was tuned into the first three rounds of the Masters, the VCU men's golf team was doing some final prep work for the CAA Championships.

In their final tournament before the CAA Championships in late April, the Rams finished 10th amongst a highly-talented field at the River Landing Intercollegiate in Wallace, N.C.

With a field that boasted four of the country's top-40 squads, the Black & Gold finished with a three-round total of 892 (+28). Liberty University took home the team victory with a three-round total of 846 (-18).

Sophomore Matt Ball, Jr. led VCU, earning a top-30 finish with a three-over par 219. The Richmond, Va. native was the most consistent Ram on the weekend, shooting even par in the first and third rounds.

Junior transfer Marc Dobias was just off Ball's pace with a five-over par 221, good for a top-40 finish.

The Rams will have one more competition before the CAA Championships with the inaugural Black & Blue Cup set for April 14th at Hermitage Country Club. More details on that event will be released on Monday at VCUathletics.com.
