MCNAMARA NAMED A-10 PLAYER OF THE WEEK

NEWPORT NEWS, Va.  VCU sophomore Emily McNamara was named the Atlantic 10 Field Hockey Player of the Week as announced by the A-10 on Monday.

McNamara scored two hat tricks in two games, both VCU wins. Her first hat trick came against Saint Louis on Friday in a 5-1 victory. She posted her second hat trick in Sunday's 3-0 win over Missouri State. McNamra also added an assist against Saint Louis.

With her six goals and one assist in two games, she broke VCU's single-season points record with 45 total points. In addition to breaking the single-season points record, McNamara's 18 goals on the season rank second all-time and her nine assists are tied for ninth.

McNamara was twice named the A-10 Rookie of the Week last season as a freshman and earned All-Atlantic 10 Second Team honors. McNamara was named to the All-Atlantic 10 Preseason Team prior to the start of this season.
