SCHERRER EARNS ALL-REGION ACCOLADES FOR THIRD STRAIGHT YEAR

RICHMOND, Va. – After one of the best seasons in school history the honors continue to roll in for the VCU Field Hockey program.

Senior Kelsey Scherrer was named to the National Field Hockey Coaches Association's All-South Region Second Team, which is voted on by field hockey coaches throughout the South Region.

The second team nod marks the third consecutive year that Scherrer has been named to an All-South Region Team. She has also garnered first team all-conference honors over the past three seasons.

Scherrer finished the 2012 season with a team-high 16 goals and 41 points, while helping lead VCU to its second best season in school history. The Rams had 13 victories and qualified for the Atlantic 10 Tournament in their first season of A-10 competition.

The Chesapeake, Va. native ended her VCU career as the all-time leader in goals (53), assists (24) and points (130).
