One of only three upperclassman on the VCU field hockey roster this past fall, junior keeper Erin Jabolinski, provided a strong source of leadership from the cage for this year's team. Her 1.96 goals against average helped spark the Rams to 13 wins, the second highest mark in school in history and a berth in the CAA Tournament.

VCU Athletic Communications Student Assistant Andrew Phillips, caught up with the junior goal keeper to see what keeps her going off of the turf.

AP: Why did you decide to come to VCU?
I fell in love with the team, Kelly, Shannon and just Richmond in general. I committed the day after my official visit.

I would say the size of it and how it literally blends in with the city.

AP: What is the best advice you have ever received?
Compliments of Shannon Karl last spring..."just keep swimming."

AP: What is one thing that most people don't know about you?
I absolutely love thunderstorms.

AP: Who is the toughest opponent that you have ever played against?

AP: What is one thing that you don't leave home without?
EJ: My phone, I send a ridiculous amount of text messages and it has my life schedule on it.

AP: What is your favorite thing to do in your spare time?
Either hanging out with my friends, or coaching my club team, High Voltage.

AP: Who is one teammate that you know you can make a save on one of their shots?
Meaghan Neylon. Only because you said one... that will happen every once in a while.
