RICHMOND, Va. – Virginia Commonwealth University senior Marle van Dessel (Oisterwijk, Netherlands) and younger sister, Rymme, a freshman, have earned spots on's All-America Teams.

Marle was named Second Team All-America by the website, her first such honor. van Dessel, who ranks second in school history with 36 goals, is a three-time All-Colonial Athletic Association honoree. This past season, the center midfielder garnered a first team award after leading VCU to the CAA Tournament for the first time since 2003. She was also selected to the 2010 Longstreth/NFHCA Division I All-South Region Second Team.
In 20 matches, Marle scored 11 goals and handed out four assists. Her 26 points ranked second on the team. She was credited with a pair of game-winning goals.
In addition, Rymme van Dessel was selected to the National All-Rookie Team. Rymme burst onto the scene in 2010 to lead one of the CAA's top defenses. A center back, she led a defensive unit that ranked second in the league in goals allowed (1.75) and shutouts (5). Additionally, VCU opponents averaged just 11.5 shots per game.
For her efforts, Rymme, who also recorded one assist this season, was named the CAA's Rookie of the Year and received a second team nod at the league's annual awards banquet.
