BOTTERI AIDS USA'S BRONZE MEDAL EFFORT
BARQUISIMETO, Venezuela – Virginia Commonwealth University
sophomore Megan Botteri
(Mount Bethel, Pa.) can add a bronze medal to her
resume.
Botteri, who started 17 games in goal for the VCU Field Hockey
team in 2009, recently aided Team USA on its run to a third place
finish at the Pan Am Games indoor tournament.
After a disappointing loss to Uruguay in the semifinals, Team USA scored a 2-1 victory over Trinidad Sunday to secure the bronze.
Botteri shared time in goal with Donna Chung throughout the
tournament, her second international event since the conclusion of
her freshman year at VCU. Botteri helped the U.S. squad take fourth
at the 2010 Wasa Cup in Denmark in January.
