RICHMOND – VCU Baseball freshman Hogan Brown was named to Collegiate Baseball Newspaper’s Freshman All-America team as an outfielder, as announced by the organization Wednesday morning.
Brown, a freshman from Virginia Beach, Va., put together one of the best freshman seasons in the country. He finished the year with a .344 batting average and a .356 batting average in the regular season, which was third best in the Atlantic 10 overall, and the best on-base percentage in the conference with a .451. Appearing in 45 games with 40 starts, he would finish second on the team in doubles with 11 while collecting a triple, 21 RBI, 23 walks, and seven stolen bases. He helped lead the Rams to 34 wins, earning Second Team All-Atlantic 10 honors.
