MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – Former VCU standout Cody Eppley will have to pack a few more heavy jackets in his bags on road trips after the hurler inked a minor league contract with the Minneosta Twins organization late last week.

Eppley, who has appeared in 71 games in the major leagues since 2011, started the season with the New York Yankees, before being granted his release earlier this month.

The Dillsbury, Pa. native is currently in Triple A with the Rochester Red Wings. In his first outing he threw two innings, allowing a run on three hits.

Drafted originally by the Texas Rangers in the 43rd round of the 2008 draft, Eppley, ranks in VCU's top ten all-time in innings pitched, wins and games started.
