RICHMOND, Va. – The VCU Baseball team placed three student-athletes on the 2012 American Baseball Coaches Association/Rawlings All-East Region teams.
Cullen was an offensive force in 2012, batting .347 on the year with 27 extra-base hits, including nine triples. The nine triples hit by Cullen set the VCU single season record and finished the regular season tied for the lead nationally in the category. The Colonial Heights, Va., native earned third team All-Colonial Athletic Association honors for VCU, while posting a .987 fielding percentage (144 putouts, three assists, two errors).
Hauser (pictured left), recently drafted by the Seattle Mariners in the 13th round, put together a strong 2012 season that also saw him earn second team All-CAA honors. The Chesterfield, Va., native made 30 appearances out of the bullpen, while posting a 5-2 record and picking up 10 saves. Hauser (pictured left) finished the season with a 3.03 ERA, fanned 66 batters and limited the opposition to a .136 batting average in 35.2 innings of work.
Cujas, a first-team CAA performer in 2012, played and started in all 59 games for the Black & Gold. The Midlothian, Va., native batted .390, roped 21 doubles and drove in 49 RBI. Cujas (pictured right) finished the season with a .963 fielding percentage on 38 putouts, 118 assists and six errors.
