FIVE RAMS, BOTH TENNIS TEAMS RECOGNIZED WITH ITA ACADEMIC HONORS
RICHMOND, Va. – Legendary head coach Paul Kostin has long been known for his athletes’ success on the court.
What many may not know is their success off the court and that great tradition continued this past year as both the men’s and women’s squads, along with five individual players were recognized by the ITA for their academic success.
Both the men’s and women’s teams earned the ITA All-Academic Team award for holding a cumulative team grade-point-average of 3.20 or above.
Men’s players C.J. Williams (Richmond, Va.), Bobo Delemark (Danderyd, Sweden) and Emil Lindgren (Stocksund, Sweden) along with women’s players Alex Bara (Oradea, Romania) and Olena Leonchuk (Kiev, Ukraine) earned ITA Scholar-Athlete honors for holding a GPA of 3.50 or higher.
Williams, Delemark and Lindgren made up nearly half of the Colonial Athletic Association’s representation on the men’s side with a total of eight CAA men’s players being honored.
On the women’s side, Bara and Leonchuk were two of 17 CAA women’s players on the list.
