RAMS ANNOUNCE 2009-10 SLATE
Full Schedule
RICHMOND, Va. – The goal for the Virginia Commonwealth University men’s track & field team is simple. Win the conference championship that has eluded them since 2006.
Well the first step in that journey is set as the Black & Gold released their 2009-10 schedule.
The indoor season begins December 5th when the Rams travel to Annapolis, Md. for the Navy Invite. After New Year’s, the team will compete at East Tennessee State on Jan. 23, 2010 and Penn State on Jan. 30. Meets in Boston, Chapel Hill and New York are also on the Rams’ calendar for February.
In-state competitions for the Rams will take place at Christopher Newport in Newport News, Va. on Feb. 6 and George Mason on Feb. 28th.
A trip to the IC4A Championships on March 5th-7th and the NCAA Indoor Championships on March 12th-13th conclude a busy indoor campaign.
After a short breather, the men’s track and field team will travel to the Carolinas for four meets that will kick off the spring season.
The Rams will face-off in the Coastal Carolina Meet (March 12th-13th) in Conway, SC, before traveling north to Wake Forest for a March 19th-20th competition. From there, the team will participate in the Raleigh Relays on March 26th-27th.
Before heading back to Virginia, the Rams will compete in the Duke Invite on April 3rd. A meet at the University of Virginia on April 10th and the Rams’ own VCU Invite on April 17th will help prepare the team for the season-ending CAA Outdoor Championships in Fairfax, Va. April 30th-May 1st.
The spring season will conclude with NCAA qualifiers in Greensboro, N.C. May 28th-29th, and the NCAA Championships in Eugene, Ore. June 10th-12th.
