SVENSSON LEADS VCU PAST 19TH-RANKED CARDINALS

RICHMOND, Va. – Freshman Filip Svensson picked up his eighth win of the season and provided the match-clinching victory for the Virginia Commonwealth University men’s tennis team against 19th-ranked University of Louisville, 4-3, on Friday at the Thalhimer Tennis Center.
Svensson defeated Andrew Carter, 6-2, 3-6, 6-3, on the No. 5 court in the final match of the day.
VCU improves to 13-8, while 19th-ranked Louisville falls to 16-6.
The Cardinals started the match off strong winning the doubles point, but the Rams rallied in singles by winning the last four points to win the match.
VCU returns to action on Sunday, April 5 at 10 a.m. when it hosts the University of South Florida at the Thalhimer Tennis Center.
