MOSER REACHES DOUBLES FINAL AT L.A. OPEN
LOS ANGELES, Calif. – The name of Frank Moser is quickly becoming a hot name on the ATP World Tour after yet another strong performance at the recent Los Angeles Tennis Open.
Moser teamed with fellow German Benjamin Becker to blow through the first three rounds and earn a spot in the Doubles Final against the top-ranked Bryan brothers, a tandem that entered the match with a 46-11 mark.
Moser and Becker gave the Bryan brothers a nationally-televised battle, but came up short, dropping the match 6-4, 7-6 to the top-seeded American twins.
Moser is now ranked in the top-80 in doubles competition in the ATP, his highest ranking ever came this past July with a No. 72 ranking.
A two-time All-American during his time at VCU, Moser helped the Rams earn a spot in the only National Championship Appearance in school history when the Black & Gold battled perennial power Stanford in the 2000 NCAA National Championship.
During his senior year in 2001, Moser teamed with Florian Marquardt to make a run into the quarterfinals of the NCAA Doubles Championship.
