Recently, the Rams added some hardware that they were earned for off the court.
Both the men’s tennis and men’s basketball teams were recognized for multi-year Academic Progress Rate (APR) scores in the top 10 percent of all squads in their respective sports.
The NCAA’s APR calculation includes eligibility, retention and graduation to provide a clear picture of the academic culture of each sport.
“Both of these programs have dedicated countless hours both on the court and in the classroom and deserve this honor,” Director of Student-Athlete Advising Sofia Hiort-Wright commented. “It’s really a testament to all of the people that make up the great support system that surround these athletes, from the coaches to the parents to the academic advisors.”
The Black & Gold has been recognized many times over the years for its success both on and off the court. Head Coach Paul Kostin helped guide the Rams to an overall mark of 17-9 and a date in the CAA Championship match for the 14th time in the past 15 seasons.
