MASN TO TELEVISE VCU-OKLAHOMA CONTEST
RICHMOND, Va. – Although the Virginia Commonwealth University men’s basketball team is focused on beating Western Michigan in a couple hours, the rest of the VCU Athletic Department is busy preparing for Saturday and the nationally-ranked Oklahoma Sooners coming to town.
The athletic department announced today that they have locked up a television deal that will broadcast the contest on MASN. The game time will remain at 7:30 p.m.
It will be the first-ever nationally-ranked opponent visiting the Verizon Wireless Arena at the Stuart C. Siegel Center. It’s the first time the Rams have played a nationally-ranked opponent in a “home game” since January 23, 1993 when they took on 12th-ranked Long Beach State and picked up a 95-61 victory.
Oklahoma enters the week as the 17th-ranked team in the country and have posted a 2-0 mark in 2009-10 with home victories over Mount St. Mary’s (95-71) and Lousiana-Monroe (72-61).
The Rams have a 1-0 mark entering their first road test tonight at Western Michigan.
MASN is broadcast throughout the East Coast on all cable providers. |
