While at Wake Forest

No Learning Curve Needed Here: Skeen didn’t waste a long time earning a spot in the Demon Deacons starting lineup, being penciled in as a starter on 24 occasions in 2006-2007.

Inside and Outside: The inside-outside ability of Skeen is what separates him from the pack and he displayed it for Wake Forest. Nearly half (58 of 128) of his field goals coming from beyond the arc.

New Nickname, Mr. Windex?: We might be on to something with that since Skeen ranked in the top-three in rebounding on the Demon Deacons during both of his years. As a freshman, he led the team in rebounding on eight occasions.

We Know That Feeling Too!: VCU’s 79-77 upset victory over Duke in the 2007 NCAA Tournament is a moment that will forever live in the hearts of Ram fans. Skeen knows how it feels to upset the Blue Devils as well. He chipped in 10 points and nine rebounds in Wake’s 86-73 victory over at the time No.2 Duke on Feb. 17, 2008.

The High School Days

Ruling the Rankings: Coming out of North Mecklenburg, Skeen was as highly touted as they come with a top-85 national ranking from three different scouting services (42nd by Bob Gibbons, 75th by Scout.com and 85th by Rivals.com).

Mr. Basketball: That’s exactly what Skeen was named for the state of North Carolina after an outstanding junior season, averaging 20.1 points, 11.1 rebounds and 2.9 assists per game.

Towering Over the Tar Heel State: Skeen was a household name in North Carolina, earning First-Team All-State honors during his junior and senior seasons. He was the second-leading vote getter as a senior. Also on the First-Team squad during his junior year was former Ram great Eric Maynor and current VCU teammate T.J. Gwynn.

Hoisting the Trophy: His last two years at North Mecklenburg were memorable ones as Skeen led the Vikings to the 2005 4A State Championship and came within two points of capturing a second-straight title in 2006.
