While at VCU

Wait, Is That the Same Guy?: Not only did the athletic guard added nearly 10 pounds of bulk during the off-season, but Rozzell is donning a new number. He previously wore No. 5, but switched to No. 32, his high school number this season.

The Comforts of Home: Rozzell has always enjoyed playing in the Siegel Center and it has showed. Seven of his nine career double-digit performances have come at home, and he has averaged nearly nine points a game at the Siegel Center. That’s nearly four points higher than his average on the road.

Shining in the Spotlight: In front of a national-television audience on ESPNU, Rozzell was a big spark off the bench with 16 points with four three-pointers in a memorable contest against Northeastern on Jan. 27, 2009.

Earning his stripes: Hard work pays off, and Rozzell knows that first-hand. He was originally expected to redshirt during his freshman season, but earned more and more playing time throughout the year. In the last six games of the season, he averaged nearly 20 minutes a game, 4.8 points and 1.3 rebounds.

The High School Days

Sensational at the Siegel Center: Rozzell is no stranger to the Siegel Center, playing in countless state tournament games at VCU’s arena. The most memorable moment came in 2007, when he led Highland Springs to a 30-2 record and a AAA State Championship.

I’ll Take that Award, Thank You: During the Springers’ run to the title, Rozzell poured in 20.6 points, 4.0 rebounds and 3.6 assists per game to earn AAA State Player of the Year accolades.

Bigger Trophy Case, Please: The awards for his senior year kept piling up, including recognition such as First-Team All-District, First-Team All-Region, First-Team All-Metro and MVP honors of the Tri-City and State All-Star Games.

Sharp Both On and Off the Court: Rozzell’s talents weren’t limited to the hardwood as he earned academic honor roll recoginition during his final two years at Highland Springs.

Getting to know Brandon

Dipsy-do, Dunk-a-roo: Rozzell’s athleticism is something that his teammates know all about with four votes getting thrown his way as the most likely to win a slam dunk contest.

King of Platinum: One of Rozell’s other loves outside of basketball is listening to his iPOD, which contains close to 3,000 songs. If it happened to get stuck on only one song, he hopes it would be “Run Into My Arms” by J.Holliday.

The Next Tiger?: When asked what sport he would be playing if not for basketball, Rozzell chose golf.
