Chad Workman is an Assistant Sports Performance Coach at VCU, and is responsible for the performance needs of the Men’s and Women’s Soccer, Cross Country and Golf Teams. In addition, he serves as the VCU Sports Performance Internship Coordinator.
Prior to his arrival at VCU, Workman served as a Graduate Assistant Sports Performance Coach at Louisville from 2011-13, where he was responsible for Men’s Golf and Women’s Tennis, while assisting with a plethora of other teams.
During the 2009-10 academic year, Workman was an Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach at UNC Greensboro before being promoted to the acting director for the subsequent academic year.
Workman has also assisted with performance training for a variety of professional athletes representing MLB, NFL and USTA.
He received his Master’s degree in Exercise Physiology from the University of Louisville in 2013, and a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science from UNC Greensboro in 2009.
Workman holds many certifications relating to sports performance, including being a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, Strength and Conditioning Coach Certified, a USA Weightlifting Level 1 Sports Performance Coach, and being Functional Movement Screen Certified.
Still competitive within USA Powerlifting and Weightlifting, Workman resides with his wife, Kelly.
