Justin Walker joined VCU in January of 2019 and currently serves as the athletic trainer for the VCU Baseball program. Prior to beginning his tenure at VCU, he worked in the Atlanta Braves organization as an Athletic Trainer, providing services for the organization’s academy in the Dominican Republic.
A native of Franklinton, N.C., Justin graduated from East Carolina with a B.S. of Athletic Training in May of 2016 before attending Southeastern Louisiana, where he earned a M.S. in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Sport Psychology in May of 2018. During his time as a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer at SLU, he served as the primary athletic trainer for men’s basketball in 2016-17 before taking over in the same capacity for the SLU softball program in the 2017-18 school year.
In addition to being a Certified Athletic Trainer, Justin holds certification as a Corrective Exercise Specialist through the NASM as well as being trained in the Fascial Distortion Model – Upper Extremity.
In his free time, Justin enjoys golfing, bowling, spending time with family and cheering on the Atlanta Braves and Carolina Panthers.
