Christopher Mignogna joined VCU in 2017. Originally, overseeing VCU Women’s Volleyball as an Intern that season, he has transferred over to a full-time role as the Athletic Trainer for both the Women’s Basketball and Men’s Golf programs.
Prior to VCU, Mignogna served as an Athletic Trainer at Old Dominion, where his primary care focused on the men’s wrestling program, while studying for his Masters in Post-Professional Athletic Training.
Originally from Floral Park, N.Y., Chris graduated from Quinnipiac, with a B.S. in Athletic Training/Sports Medicine. During his time at Quinnipiac, Mignogna interned with Tennessee's and Wyoming's Football programs, where he assisted their sports medicine staff with medical care.
Mignogna's passions focus on a plethora of injury screening assessments and implementation of corrective exercise programing. A member of both the National Athletic Training Association and College Athletic Training Association, he is certified in Functional Movement Screen level 1, M1 Graston Technique, and Myokinematic Restoration from the Postural Restoration Institute.
