Reynaldo Valdez joined VCU as an Assistant Athletic Trainer for the women’s volleyball team in July 2018. Previously he served as an Athletic Training Fellow at Michigan for the track & field and cross-country teams during the 2017-18 school year.
A native of Boise, Idaho, Rey graduated from Boise State in May 2015 with a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training. As an undergraduate, Rey served as an Athletic Training Intern for the Seattle Seahawks during the 2014 season and was a recipient of the NFL Minority Scholarship.
To continue his education, Rey served as a Graduate Athletic Trainer at Bowling Green for the women’s volleyball and women’s track & field teams. Rey is a board-certified athletic trainer.
In his free time, Rey enjoys spending time with his fiancée, Nicole, and exploring their new home of Richmond, Va.
