Sean Soares serves as the Assistant Director for Event Management & Facility Operations. He came to VCU in 2011 as the Graduate Assistant for the Siegel Center and Athletic Facilities.
Soares is responsible for assisting with event management and facility operations at VCU's athletic venues, including serving as the primary contact and facility coordinator for Sports Backers Stadium. Soares also coordinates events services, such as bookings, contracts, logistics, and post-event settlements, for larger scaled events held at the Siegel Center.
Prior to joining VCU, Soares served as the Director of Stadium Operations during Spring Training for the San Francisco Giants from 2008-2011, and as Event Coordinator for Giants Enterprises at AT&T Park from 2010-2011.
Soares graduated with a degree in Business Administration with a focus in Finance and a certificate in Economics from Northern Arizona University in 2009. He will receive his M.Ed. in Sport Leadership from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2012.
Originally from Santa Clara, CA Soares and his fiancee, Shannon, currently reside in Glen Allen.
