Mitchell Moore joined the department as Athletic Communications Assistant in April 2009.
Moore serves as the primary contact for women's soccer and women's basketball, while assisting with the day-to-day operations of the Athletic Communications office.
Prior to joining VCU, Moore served as the Director of Media Relations for the Peninsula Pilots, a summer collegiate baseball franchise in Hampton, Va. Prior to his full-time appointment in September 2008, he assisted the club in the same capacity on a seasonal basis during the previous seven summers. While with the Pilots, Moore's primary responsibilities included coordinating the team's media and public relations effort, while assisting in the areas of marketing and player personnel.
The Yorktown, Va., native is a 2007 graduate of VCU with a B.S. in Mass Communications. He also received his Master's degree from the VCU Center for Sport Leadership in 2008. While completing his undergraduate and graduate studies, Moore spent two years as a communications intern with the Colonial Athletic Association.
Moore and his wife, Alex, reside in Richmond.
